Our commitment to quality workmanship means repairs that look great and are built to last.
Water damage isn’t always obvious at first. Knowing what signs to look for can help you catch the problem early and prevent more costly repairs. Here are some of the most common warning signs of water-damaged drywall.
Brown or Yellow Stains
Brown, yellow, or dark stains on your walls or ceiling are often one of the first signs of water damage. Even if the drywall still feels solid, these stains usually mean moisture has found its way behind the surface and should be addressed before the damage spreads.
Bubbling or Peeling Paint
When water gets trapped behind the paint, it can cause the surface to bubble, blister, or peel away. This often means the drywall underneath has been affected and should be inspected before the problem becomes worse.
Soft, Warped, or Sagging Drywall
Drywall that feels soft, swollen, warped, or begins to sag has usually absorbed too much moisture. Once the source of the leak has been repaired, replacing the damaged drywall helps restore the strength and appearance of your home.
Mold and Musty Odors
A damp, musty odor can be a sign that moisture has been trapped behind your drywall for some time. Mold can begin to grow in damp areas, so it’s important to have the damaged drywall inspected and repaired as soon as possible.
Crumbling or Deteriorating Drywall
Drywall that crumbles, flakes, or breaks apart easily has likely suffered significant water damage. Replacing the damaged material helps restore your walls or ceilings and prevents the problem from getting worse.
Soft Or Spongy Spots
Soft or spongy areas often mean water has soaked into the drywall and weakened it over time. After the leak has been repaired, replacing the damaged drywall helps restore a strong, smooth finish that looks like new.

Water damage can leave behind stained ceilings, damaged walls, and drywall that simply doesn't look right. Professional drywall repairs restore a smooth, clean finish, helping your home look like the damage never happened.

Damaged drywall should be repaired once the source of the leak has been fixed. Replacing weakened drywall early helps prevent the damage from spreading and protects the surrounding walls and ceilings from further deterioration.

Water-damaged drywall can make even a well-maintained home feel neglected. Quality repairs help restore your home's appearance, protect its value, and give you confidence that the job was done right.

Juan did an excellent job repairing my plaster in my 100+ YO home! He was prompt, friendly, and highly skilled. My plaster above my front windows was bowed out, and on a different wall had been previously very poorly patched. You now can't even tell it's been repaired it looks perfect! When I initially called, Mr. O'Leary answered, turned around an estimate almost immediately, and got my work scheduled very quickly. I highly recommend O'Leary enterprises..!!Posted on Google![]()

Tim’s team did an amazing job, they came in, super friendly. They did an amazing job on my ceiling texture, and the guys explain the process to me very well. 5 stars, but I will say my only critique is when the guys were finishing, they didn’t protect the wall too well with the plastic, as I had to go and sand and scrape off some drywall globs. Would love to see improvement for when I get them back to do my living room or kitchen some day!Posted on Google![]()
